Match report A dissapointing return to league action for the III XI. Batting first on a good pitch St. Albans failed to use up all their overs and ended up short of runs being dismissed for 132. Only the middle order pairing of Gordon Murray and Peter Griffiths showing any resistance to a strong bowling attack. Murray with 51 and Griffiths with a well compiled 19. After these two it was again the all too familiar collapse. The bowling and fielding was another matter. The commitment shown in the the field was exelent, in fact the 7 wicket loosing margin flattering Northchurch. Keeping the oposition down to 2-3 runs per over and them taking the best part of 40 overs to get the runs required. Must do better if promotion is to be acheived but many positives taken.
