Watford Town II v St Albans Cricket Club 3XI on Sat 28 May 2005 at 1.30pm
St Albans Cricket Club Won St Albans win by 8 wickets
Early on the bowling was not really tight enough on a good pitch with batsmen looking to play shots. Nissar bowled well and deserved his good figures. Nick Kirwan improved as the spell developed and Eddie Hughes bowled some very good stuff interspersed with a few not so good. The Watford batting, fortunately, did not stratch to the lower reaches of the order and the innings faded to a respectable score, but one way below expectations after the first twenty overs. At one point the omens were not good but some fine batting by Joe Grigg and Gordon Murray made the match safe with plenty of time to spare. Gordon had a few dodgy moments in the thirties (but that was long time ago ho ho!) but settled down to dominate the bowling and lead us to another thirty points. Good to see Eamo back for banter and Uzman modelling his body on the Kirwan template. Good fun, good win.
