Match report Fragile batting (albeit with some good Hitchin bowling) meant a total which would lways be difficult to defend, with only Jerry Fretter and Eddie Hughes hung aroung long enough to make a half-decent score.
After tea the bowlers performed well with Charles Wark the pick, looking fiery and very difficult to get away. A few dropped catches didn't help but the real damage to St Albans' chances were done before tea.
