St Albans Cricket Club Men's Indoor v Wheathampstead "A" on Mon 22 Oct 2012 at 8pm
St Albans Cricket Club Won By 3 wickets

Match report Despite some early confusion St Albans won the toss, and elected to bowl. Starting with undoubtedly the strongest opening attack in the league Rosson and O'Toole again started well, leaving Weathampstead struggling at 26-2 after 4 overs. Jonny struggled a little to find the rythmn bowled some unplayable deliveries in between the wides! Luke was unlucky to not get more, bowling a good spell after one of the worst first deliveries ever season at the Redbourn cricket academy. To be fair to Wheathampstead they rallied well, through some sensible batting, and assistance from extras, a score of 112 was a good recovery.

St Albans started the batting well scoring nothing of the bat in the first over but still notching 12 on the board. Wheathampstead's fielding was definitely a strong point, and Jonesy fell to a run out that on another day we'd probably have got away with. Luke chipped one back to the bowler, and I also mis-judged a run, to get run out, this left us in a slightly precarious position. It was then left to good batting from Tooley, and sensible nurdling from Dan Rosson, to stand a watch a chap called Wides notch a cracking innings with 53 effortless runs.

The ball was swinging more than usual for some reason, but both teams gave away too many extras. Wheathampstead were probably the strongest side we've played thus far, but they never really made us work in the chase.

All in all another win for us, we remain undefeated in the 2012 indoor season, let's keep it going.
