Match report You'll go a long way to find a pitch as bad as this - green. lumpy and wet it was a case of wear a lid and keep your fingers crossed when batting .

Fielding first we started well , opening bowlers Jimmy McEwan and Amit Rajani giving nothing away. Jimmy made the early breakthroughs with 3 quick wickets (one a brilliant low catch in the slips from Andy Knill -Jones) in his 6 over spell finishing with great figures of 6-3-12-3.

Spinner Steve Booth and Andy Knill Jones came on to continue the good bowling both taking wickets with AKJ notably recording stunning figures of 7-3-6-2.

Andy Saunders and Todd Houlahan came on and both bowled decent spells, chipping in with a wicket apiece before the opposition tailenders started hitting out, eventually pushing their total to an above par 128.

Special mentions go toHarry Knill-Jones whose keeping was exemplary in very difficult circumstances and for Ciaran Walsh too, whose bowling improves with each game he plays .

Our batting was , well, to be expected on this pitch - darkening skies, a damp, corrugated wicket , the ball bouncing crazily with each delivery - it wasn't easy, put it like that ....Suffice to say we stuck around for as long as we could but really we were onto a loser before we started . Nobody managed to reach double figures and eventually we were dismissed for an even 50 as the autumnal gloom descended over Uxbridge.
