Match report A first home win in 2015 allowed the First XI to make up ground in Division 2A. An unbeaten partnership of 92 between Phil Caley & Max Capaldi, who earlier took 4 wickets, saw the hosts to a 5-wicket win and 30 points.

After winning the toss, Northchurch lost 2 early wickets to Tyler & Smith before John Barry & in-form captain, Mark Hobley, added 85. Both reached 50 on a slow, low pitch before Barry departed to Jim Chaudry for 53. Wickets fell at a steady rate as Capaldi followed 4-wicket haul of the previous week with another as the late acceleration failed to fully materialise. He finished with 4 for 28 with Telkman & Tyler picking up late victims.

The early reply was held together by Tyler whilst wickets fell around him at regular intervals. His departure, for 58 at 106-5, left 91 to win from 23 overs. Caley set to the task, hitting 3 consecutive boundaries off Barry, as he & Capaldi found scoring against some erratic bowling easier. Caley completed the match with a boundary to bring up his 50 from 43 balls.

The 1st team travel to 9th placed Holtwhites Trinibis next Saturday, who are now 46 points ahead with 8 matches to play.
