Redbourn II v St Albans Cricket Club 3XI on Sat 03 May 2008 at
St Albans Cricket Club Won by 7 wickets
A good start to the season on a bright day on Redbourn common. Rain in the week had left a slow pitch giving any bowler who found line and length a lot of help. Captain Black won the toss an elected to field. St Albans bowled well, particularly Waheed and the skipper, and Redbourn batted poorly and could only muster 55 all out in 40.3 overs. A couple of early wickets gave Redbourn hope but patient batting from Michael Goodfellow and a few lusty blows from Alex Bass saw Saints home for a thirty point start to the season. A good all-round performance with bat, ball and in the field - can it continue.....?
