Flitwick II v St Albans Cricket Club 3XI on Sat 14 Jun 2008 at

Oh Dear!
For most of the game St Albans just didn't perform. Bowlers weren't accurate enough, fielding wasn't sharp enough and most batsmen didn't hang around long enough to build an innings. Highlights of the first innings was Brad Newall's three wickets in his final over and seeing Nick Kirwan doing most of the donkey work (how apt) with 20 overs. A stand of 215 for the second wicket was the key to the early declaration after 50 overs. Of teh second innings, only the later stages are worthy of a mention. Toby Furnivall worked hard and probably deserved a fifty on debut - maybe it will arrive next week. Brad Newall and Nick Kirwan added rapid runs later on but the target was always a stiff one. Brad's second fifty in two games, coupled with excellent fielding could see him promoted in the near future. Flitwick batted well, bowled tidily and probably deserved a win, but we don't always get what we deserve!
