First game of the league season saw the youth policy of the club come to the fore. Murray, Budd, Rudlin, Maynard, Devadason all took to the field. On a green top the 4th's bowled Northwood III's out for 126 in 44 overs.
Amit Garg (needs to buy spikes and will be a better bowler for it) took 6 for 28 ably supported by Telkman, J.R., Saunders and Adam Hounslow who failed to finish his first spell of bowling through a muscle spasm in his back!
Fielding was not too bad at all with Rex taking a excellent catch in the slips.
The batting got off to a slow start with Adam Hounslow struggling initially and only to find Maynard cross batting his wicket away very early, then, to find Devadason back in the pavillion very quickly thereafter.
Adam 'I'm playing through the pain barrier'Hounslow(68 n.o.) steadied himself and batted very maturely with the spritely James 'Jimmy I can find a fielder every shot' Giffen (43n.o.)to take the 4's home to a well deserved victory.
