Having won the toss, Shenley Village 3's opted to bat first on a flat wicket. Their openers set a good foundation going steadily at 4 an over which proved to be the case throughout the full 53, giving them a total of 218. 6 wickets were taken with Marriott claiming 2 and Garg, James and the new John Rudlin taking 1 apiece. St.Albans opening pair of Devadason and Dave 'Herbie' Hancock set about the total with gusto with the latter knocking a six and a four off the first six deliveries. Good runs were added by nearly all batsmen with particular entertainment provided by JR (40) and Amit 'who needs Waheed Ahmed' Garg (38) and the total was duly eclipsed with 5 overs to spare.
