St Albans Cricket Club 2XI v Shenley Village 1st XI on Sat 10 May 2008 at 1.30pm
St Albans Cricket Club Won by 9 runs
Another excellent game of cricket that went to the last over, St Albans won the toss and elected to bat posting a below par total of 204 all out. Phil Dorsett; 88 and Iain Curtis; 34 (in his comeback game) provided the the majority of the runs. In reply Shenley Village were reduced to 30 for 3 with Khan and Longhurst removing the openers. Ali and Rawlings steadied the innings for Shenley but were unable to accelerate with thanks to O'Toole's accurate bowling, however they were kept interested in the run chase with some useful spin from Lowe and Rowland. Needing 12 of the last two overs O'Toole and Longhurst came back in to the attack. Ali was run out on 84 leaving 10 required from the last over with 1 wicket remaining. Man if the Match Dorsett the took a good slip catch from Longhurst to give St Albans a win by 9 runs and another 30 points!
