Match report A very closely fought, high scoring, and entertaining match, with St Albans winning with just 2 balls to spare.

St Albans put Old Owens in to bat and Old Owens started scoring steadily at 5 an over, assisted by some over-excited St Albans' fielding. Old Owens built good partnerships throughout the innings with R. Orchard (29), L.Hollett (18) and V Vooght (18) playing some great shots all round the wicket. All 11 St Albans players bowled, with Alasdair Charlesworth (3-9) and Tom Blight (2-16) getting the most reward. St Albans captain James Martin (1-10) picked up 3 catches and bowled a wicket maiden in the 20th over to restrict Old Owens to a great score of 112.

St Albans were hesitant in their reply and were 14-2 after 3 overs. With the Old Owens fielders showing great discipline, and V.Vooght (2-14) the best of the 4 main strike bowlers, the target looked even more challenging. However James Martin (30) and Freddie Sapone (17) hit back with some wonderful strikes and brought St Albans back into the match at 61-3 after 12 overs. Tom Blight (28 not out) built on this momentum and, with growing confidence and control, guided St Albans home in the last over and 2 balls to spare.
