St Albans Cricket Club Sunday 1XI v Chingford on Sun 24 Jun 2001 at
St Albans Cricket Club Lost 2 Wickets
This was a tremedous match played in great spirit. St Albans won the toss and elected to bat on a scorching hot afternoon. Arnold and Triniman batted well to take the St Albans score past the 100 mark then Swanton and Raza Chaudry secured a commanding innings total of 233. In reply Chingford batted aggressively and progressed their score continuously towards the total but contantly lost wickets. Ultimately Chingford required 15 from the final over with just 2 wickets left. In an attempt to make something happen St Albans brought Arsad Badourdeen back into the attack. unfortunately he was not able to immediately find his line and Chingford managed to hit fours off the first four balls of the over to gain an unlikely victory! Great game - Great day!!
