St Albans Cricket Club Men's Indoor v Redbourn on Mon 12 Nov 2007 at 20:00
St Albans Cricket Club Won By 17 runs

Match report A workman-like performance from St Albans Elite Indoor squad, saw them continue the recent run of victories.

Saints won the toss and elected to bat first, aware that it's always difficult to chase under the lights. A decent first over saw the established opening partnership of Jones and Ramsay claim 12. The change of bowler did the trick for Redbourn however, Ramsay was unsure what to do with the straight one, so did nothing and found himself in the cage (for the rest of the innings!). The Howeson edged in to double figures, before demonstrating a poor knowledge of the angles, clipping the ball through midwicket, and straight back to the bowler to run himself out by a country mile. This bought Dorsett to the crease who nurdled a few before stepping across to nurdle from off to leg, allowing the umpire to adjudge him LBW. Jones succombed for 20 leaving Saints in a precarious spot. Fogarty and O'Toole rebuilt the innings, and when fogarty was out for 10, O'Toole showed his experience guiding the boys to 105 in our 12 overs.

Redbourn started their assault on the St Albans impressively, with aggresive running between the wickets. Scoring at above 10 an over for the first 3 few overs, before Jones picked up and important wicket. Ramsay and O'Toole replaced Howeson and Jones, and stemmed the flow of runs. Saints felt agrieved as a couple of run-outs weren't given by the man in the cage, apparently you win some and lose some, so it turned out when a run out was given with the batsman clearly in (we just let the umpires make the decisions, and accept them graciously at all times - honest). St Albans eventually got the upperhand, but the game was in the balance until the penultimate over in the Redbourn innings when another run out saw the end of Redbourn's last man, and with it the match.

Richard O'Toole arguably did enough to claim Man of the Match, scoring 30 something, and picking up a couple of wickets...
