Ealing v St Albans Cricket Club Women's 1XI on Sun 12 May 2019 at 13:30+15:30
St Albans Cricket Club Lost by 57 runs

Match report The Womens 1XI had their first ever cricket matches on Sunday.

The first few matches of the season are 8 aside pairs games. The first match was against a tough Ealing team (Premier division winners 2018).
St Albans skipper Helen O’Byrne won the toss and chose to bat. St Albans started strongly Georgina Reynolds (14*) driving freely, and Charlotte (17*) and Emma Nelson (10) put on the biggest partnership of the day to put Ealing under pressure. Ealing kept a tight line (only bowling 4 wides) and picked up wickets at regular intervals, but Olivia Howeson(10) and Hannah Bentley(12*) finished the innings strongly to set a target of 263-7.
In reply St Albans fielded well, Emma Nelson taking two great catches, but Ealing were able to pick off any poor balls, and extras proved to be the highest scorer and was ultimately the difference between the two teams. Pick of the bowlers were Georgina Reynolds (3-8-0) and Jenny Laird (2-10-1).

A great first effort against a very strong Ealing side.
