Hoddesdon III v St Albans Cricket Club 3XI on Sat 01 Jul 2006 at 1.30pm
St Albans Cricket Club Won St Albans win by 2 wickets

Match report Hoddesdon, where the sun always shines, the pitch is always good, the boundaries always short and the bowling figures always unimpressive, at least that's my understanding based on several visits over the years. Electing to bowl first, St Albans reduced Hoddy to seventy-odd for five and an early view of the football looked likely. When three hundred was posted, still for five down, a long run chase was needed. (although the bowling wasn't great the batsmen did well, one hitting a very good 150 and the other hanging around - knowing there wasn't much more to come). All St Albans batsmen contributed well. Special mentions to Sexy Rexy D. for the good start, Sam Rowlands for his lack of concentration (probably wanted to get back to reading the Daily Mail), Uttam and David Hancock for a very rapid, middle-order partnership, and Eddie Hughes - finally finding form with the bat. An excellent all-round performance, and the football wasn't worth watching anyway!
