Match report A comprehensive win for the 2s, at Northwood Town...

Northwood town elected to bat first on a wicket which was perhaps not ideally suited to batting. They soon found themselves regretting the decision when they were 0-1 with 3 balls gone. Glen Turner claiming the first of his 4 wickets, with Simon Luckhurst holding on to a good catch at 1st slip. Northwoods innings never got going, barely exceeding 2 an over at any point. Alan Garofall, and Richard O'Toole posed a constant threat, as usual giving nothing at all away while at the other end Glen showed some good pace, and bounce to provide the batsmen with a different sort of problem. Northwood ended their innings on 105, with some poor fielding accounting for too many of those!

With St Albans batting the wicket looked an altogether different prospect. There was still something there for the bowler, however they couldn't contain the strong batting line up. Cameron Box played some lovely shots, and was a little unlucky when he was caught and bowled for 28, following a clean strike straight back at the bowler. The other opener Simon Luckhurst playing his first league game of the year finished 44 not out, while Matt Howeson at the other end helped secure the match with 32 not out.

A commanding performance by a strong 2XI, well done all!
