Match report A second match against Old Victorians in a week saw the opposition turn up to avenge their defeat at Clarence Park 7 days ago .

Although billed as a 'development' game there was nothing 'development' about the opposition team as ,clearly stung by their loss, they arrived with numerous high quality players determined to reverse their fortunes.

St Albans by contrast fielded a side of veterans and colts from the younger teams with guest appearances from 1st and 2nd X1 regulars Stuart Murray and Stanley Tinkler.

St Albans won the toss and opted to bat on a flat wicket and the innings started well with Nick James and Stuart Murray looking in touch before a mix up in the middle led to the loss of Murray through an avoidable run out. Rob Still picked up the baton and put on a good partnership with James before he was bowled by a good 'un on 34. James reached his half century thanks to valuable support from Hashim Awan (7) and George Chaney (3) who stuck around and helped farm the strike. After James holed out on 52 Stanley Tinkler took over and hit a majestic 69 not out ably supported by Jayden Solomons (2) and brother Alfie Tinkler (8 no) to take the score at the end of 40 overs to a competitive 205-6.

Old Victorians began their innings belligerently with some big hitting from their opening pair . Alfie Tinkler made the first breakthrough with a well earned LBW and took his second wicket shortly afterwards , a well taken catch on the boundary from Rob Still. Stanley Tinkler who bowled a diligent 8 over spell finally got some reward when he dismissed the number 4 batsman with a neat caught behind, well taken by keeper Stuart Murray. However, catches weren't taken , chances were missed and the runs piled on .It should be mentioned that Rob Still bowled a typically tidy spell of 8-1-30-0 and was unlucky to finish wicketless.

In the end the opening batsman scored his century (103 no) and the winning runs in the 36th over.

A good test for the youngsters who got some valuable experience playing in an adult 40 over game and who all contributed to an enjoyable game of cricket on another glorious day at Clarence park.
