St Albans Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI v Cockfosters II on Sun 03 Aug 2014 at 1pm
St Albans Cricket Club Won by 2 wickets

Match report Another great team performance, and a second consecutive League win.

Losing the toss (again) Cockfosters started positively using the pace from the opening attack to good effect. Jack Ypey (9-27-2) and Rob Still (9-19-5) took the pace off the ball and brought the run rate under control, and with great support from team took wickets at regular intervals, eventually bowling Cockfosters out in the 45th over.

In reply St Albans started slowly, but a 73 partnership between Manny (36) and Ash(33) established a platform which allowed Jack(47) and Dave Ashton(47) to pick up the pace with a 95 partnership. Under mounting pressure cool heads from Peter Melling and Charlie Walton (playing his first senior game) ensured St Albans cruised to victory with 1 over to spare.

A great victory and some well earned revenge for the thrashing we took from them earlier in the season. Well done all.
