Match report On a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon, Harpenden won the toss and elected to bat first on what looked like a good pitch. A combination of poor bowling and good batting meant that the Harpenden openers got off to a quick start, Reeves being the more dominant of the two. After a stern talking to from the skipper at drinks, St Albans put in a much better performance in the field, and the introduction of Jamie Regan proved vital as he removed Whiteley with a short ball. Watkins then came on to dismiss Reeves with a ball that nipped back in. Amit Rajani's 12 over spell was excellent, as he picked up 4 wickets to stem the flow of runs. After 45 overs, Harpenden declared on 242-7, a seemingly generous declaration on a good batting track.

The St Albans innings started in familiar fashion, as they were quickly reduced to 8-2. However, Michael Goodfellow (111) and Amit Rajani (50) made sure that a typical St Albans batting collapse was not going to happen, as they put on 147 for the third wicket. Telkman, Regan and Murray helped to keep St Albans in touch of a stunning victory, but late wickets meant that St Albans fell an agonisingly 6 runs short of their target, finishing on 237-8 off 55 overs.
