For many years the bar and 'Long Room' in our beautiful and historic pavilion at Clarence Park have been unloved and uncared for and we recognise that it is currently not a particularly attractive place to spend any amount of time.
We are determined to address this before the new season starts and know that with some thought, time and resources we can make these areas somewhere we can be proud of. Our aim is to replace the flooring, the furniture, the lighting, to make the toilets in the bar area unisex, to replace some worn out fixtures and to give the whole area a new coat of paint.
We recently launched a crowdfunding page with the aim of raising £2,500 towards the cost of these vital works. We gave ourselves what we thought was an optimistic 90 days to raise the funds but, thanks to the amazing generosity of our members, we achieved that target in just 48 hours!
Even though our initial target has been reached, we are going to keep on going. Not because we are greedy but because there is always more we can do and numerous people have expressed a wish to donate but have not yet had a chance to do so.
If you would like to donate, please click on the orange banner at the top of the page or go to www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/stalbanscc.
To make this happen we also need builders, electricians, plumbers, upholsterers and other skilled tradesman.
If you can help or know of someone who might volunteer their services, please email our Chairman, Paul Sands on firstname.lastname@example.org
