St Albans Cricket Club Men's Indoor v Fountains CC on Mon 15 Oct 2007 at 20:00
St Albans Cricket Club Lost

Match report St Albans won the toss and stuck the opposition in on a hard, bouncy track. A tight
opening spell from the spin of Galloway and Ramsay put pressure on the Fountains
batsmen, which was relieved immediately when Martin Jones came on first change.
Helped by a slightly expensive 2nd change option in Dorsett and some rash fielding,
Fountains accumulated 158 in their 12 overs.

St Albans opened up with Eddie Hughes and Martin Jones in reply. After a slight mix
up in the running, Hughes felt he couldn't be bothered to make his ground, bringing
Dorsett to the crease in the third over. Jones was finding it hard to bat with his
head up his own arse, so it was down to Dorsett and Ramsay (who both retired) to try
and keep him off strike. Eventually Jones retired too, surely for reaching
retirement age rather than 25 runs, much to the dismay of the opposition.

By this time it was a tall order but 24 off the last over was not entirely out of
reach. It was, however, after a run out and 2 wides not given by an umpire with a
plane to catch.

2 losses out of 2. Must try harder.
P Dorsett.
