Dear ##firstname##,
As a club we have a pressing need to recruit new adult players across all of our teams to ensure we retain healthy membership numbers and remain competitive in the fixtures we are committed to.
Over the last few years adult membership and availability has dropped off alarmingly and last year particularly it was often a struggle to field four teams on a Saturday and two teams on Sunday - this is approaching a bit of a crisis.
With that in mind we have decided to put a lot of effort into adult player recruitment this winter.
Various initiatives are in play not least a big PR and marketing push across local media but one of the key things we are planning is a stall at St Albans City Station on Wednesday 1st and Wednesday 8th February to promote the club and raise awareness of what we offer.
There will be SACC branding there, we will be wearing SACC t-shirts and we have printed up leaflets explaining who we are , where we are and how to join.
We hope that we can attract the interest of a few of the many thousands of commuters who pass through the station each day and may not even know we even exist.
We are then repeating this exercise with a stall on St Albans Market on Saturday 18th and Saturday 25th February.
What we need is some hardy and enthusiastic volunteers to help man these stalls for part or all of those days.
Clearly Wednesday 1st and Wednesday 8th are work days so we appreciate it may be difficult for most of you but if you do, say, work from home, are retired, currently 'resting' or have some flexibility in your hours we would really appreciate it if you could come down for a while to help man the stall.
All it will require is handing out leaflets to anybody that wants one and talking to those who show interest in joining the club. Nothing too taxing or stressful.
If you could spare some time on either of those days please drop an email to Andy Saunders on andy@velocitypr.co.uk or call him on 07939 133050 and let him know what hours you might be able to help out with.
We will send out another email asking for volunteers for the market stall on 18th and 25th February in due course but for the moment the stall at the station is our primary focus.
This is your club . If you want to ensure the future of cricket in St Albans we cannot stress how important the next few months are - so please, if you can spare even an hour or two on February 1st and/or 8th, get in touch and help us promote what we do and recruit some new players.
Regards,
St Albans Cricket club.
