Match report Oh dear oh dear...
...things started badly and got worse. Most of the team got lost en route to the ground and arrived late. So we started with 8 players, no wicketkeeper and an outfield which looked like the surface of the Moon.
When we eventually had our full compliment of players we came back into the game. Richard Stunt bowled exceptionally well and the fielding held up. Sayf Khan pulled off a smart run out momments after a comedy collision with Mark 'sumo' Telkman.
The batting, with the exception of Ian Robinson (35), was poor. Mark Telkman (15) batted solidly but we couldn't keep up with the required run rate. A late clatter of wickets flattered the Harrowdene bowling which was unthreatening.
Never mind, overall the season has been a successful one for the Sunday 2XI with mostly competitive games and opportunities for some younger players to play 'adult' cricket. I hope everyone will return to play next season.
