St Albans Cricket Club Boys U12A v Langleybury on Mon 07 Jun 2010 at 6pm
St Albans Cricket Club Lost

Match report St Albans won the toss and elected to bat in gloomy and damp conditions. Langleybury made the most of the conditions with some accurate, and aggressive, fast swing bowling which unnerved the St Albans young batsmen leaving them struggling on 9-2 after 5 overs. Ben Robertson (11) attacked the rare loose ball and Alfie Button (16no) defiantly resisted the fastest bowling that we have seen at Clarence Park this season, to leave St Albans on a below par 56-6 after 20 overs.
The rain that had started during the St Albans innings continued throughout the rest of the match.
The 6 St Albans bowlers used all bowled well, and were well supported in the field, Alfie Button (2-0-7-0) and Oliver Calverley (1-0-7-1) coping best with the wet and slippery ball, even the use of an unusual "lucky towel" could not break the Langleybury grip on the game, and they ended up deserved winners in the 11th over.
Man of Match: Alfie Button
