Match report St Albans lost a close match to a well organised Berkhamsted team on a lovely sunny evening.

St Albans won the toss and decided to bowl. The Berkhamsted batsmen found it tough going on a pitch with uneven bounce. St Albans rotated their 10 bowlers well and with some tight fielding never let Berkhamsted get into their stride. St Albans bowlers kept a tight line. Jack Ypey (3-1-3-1), Tom Blight (2-0-9-2), and Stanley Tinkler (3-1-10-2) made the most of the conditions, Jack also took 3 great catches, to restrict Berkhamsted to a competitive 90-8.

In reply St Albans were immediately on the back foot losing their openers in the first over. Harry Knill-Jones (15) and Stanley Tinkler (10) started to build a partnership and at 32 from 6 overs St Albans were ahead of the required rate. However the spinners then cut through St Albans middle order (One bowler bravely recovering from a dislocated knee part way through his spell). Jacob Winfield's valiant 18 at the end was not quite enough and St Albans' innings finished just short of the target on 76-8.
