Match report Well this is an easy one to compile, not enough runs. On a flat if slightly low pitch St Albans won the toss and chose to bat. That really was as good as it got as several players made their bid for worst shot of the season. Although a couple of players were unlucky, Ferguson chopping onto one that kept low and Christie "walking" even though the umpires had they conferred would have agreed that the catch, was in fact no more than a good stop after at least one and maybe more bounces. Anyway let us name the guilty who have set a very high or should that be low standard for our competition for worst shot of the season. Hancock, Eames, Porter, Mistry and Bowskill C, hang your heads in shame.

After a depressing change between innings Saints bowlers and fielders did at least strive for wickets and respectability and honourable mentions must be given to Hancock and Christie for aggression and no little pace to the former and pin point accuracy and little or no pace to the latter. It was also heartening to see Bowskill of the Charlie variety bowl an excellent six over spell which was worth a lot more that the one wicket bagged, a rather major fielding abberation at least in part for that one. His brother Tom twirled away for 4 overs of flight and guile and showed that a spinning option certainly resides within the team. However, and it is certainly worth repeating when the opposition is chasing a rather paltry 108 it was hard to claw back a match on a mostly blameless pitch. On a more positive note it was impressive that no-one's head dropped and there is promise in this side, definitely a lot of promise.
