St Albans Cricket Club Won Ongoing!!

Match report After a double bookd pitch and a late start restricted this to a single innings, SACC U10 A1 team, skippered by Alistair West were asked to bat by the A2 team captain David Barnes. Debutant Jake Baxter (6*), opening with Alistair (6*) put on 26 runs in their solid opening partnership. Jonaton Bennett (6*)and Sam Crowne (3*) then consolidated the performance with a stand of 21 runs -- and still not a wicket taken. David's team were still working hard in the field, and with some good field placing wickets were soon to come. A great run out by James McAllister, followed by accurate bowling for a middle stump knockover by David started to redress the balance. William Carmen and Edmund Martin batted well during this period showing some good aggressive strokes. The penultimate pair of Daniel Lee and Edward Perchard came in and Daniel must feel unlucky to be out to a great short sharp catch by Ethan Fogarty off Toby Turk's bowling!! With the final pair of Freddie Garnett and Oliver Moorhouse looking for quick runs, Kevin Milton took his first wicket for the club through a stumping by James Rosson -- Well done Kevin. Oliver kept out some good bowling and proved his defensive work to be improving all the time. The fielding was once again sharp, with Jamie Telkman showing the perfect "long barrier" on a number of occasions, saving a lot of runs. Both Debjit Mukherjee and Stephen Young again bowled well with some seriously improved bowling coming from Jamie Turner.The second part of this match has still to be played out and I am sure that David's team wil give a good run chase............
