St Albans Cricket Club 3XI v Tewin on Sat 06 May 2006 at 1.30pm
St Albans Cricket Club Won St Albans Win by 5 wickets

Match report The new season started with miserable weather but a chirpy third team, happy to be back in league action. Rain looked like ruining the day and tea was taken early in a rain break. Opening bowlers Luke Mitchell and Nisar Ahmed bowled very tidily, Nick Kirwan looked rusty but Chris Ellins looks a useful acquisition. One Tewin opener hung around for a long time before looking settled and then led the visitors to a healthy total on an increasingly wet wicket. Simon Galloway bowled well to keep the total down but chasing 185 in 43 overs still looked a challenge in poor conditions and dodgy light. The two youngsters Stephen Barton and Ethan Fogarty got of to a great start, battibg very well and going at five an over for the first eleven. When both fell in quick succession a minor hiccup ensued but Simon Galloway batted beautifully, well supported by Chris Ellins, to see the Saints home. A good start to the new season.
