The St Albans U14B completed one of their most impressive batting performances over the last few years to complete an impressive 7 wicket win over local rivals Harpenden. Harpenden won the toss and batted first, starting strongly with their opening pair at a rate of 9 an over. However, some tight bowling from Michael Roche (2-29), Tom Szczech (2-16), Vinny Sriganesh (1-15) and Ciaran Walsh (0-3) restricted the Harpenden side to 106-7 off their 20 overs.

St Albans began their innings at a slow but steady rate with James Dempsey (23) and Ben Hicks (11) building a platform for the assault on the Harpenden total. After the fall of the 2 openers, Michael Roche (29) and Will Brecknell (21) combined in a powerful partnership of over 50 runs in only 8 overs, leaving Tom Szczech (11) to hit the last boundaries to secure a win with 3 overs to spare.
