North Mymms v St Albans Cricket Club U10's on Wed 05 Jun 2013 at 6 pm
St Albans Cricket Club Lost 263 for 5 (11 points) v North Mymms 268 for 3 (30 points)

Match report Sharp fielding won the day for the home side at a glorious North Mymms Cricket Ground this evening.

North Mymms batted first and scored steadily with only John McVeigh taking a wicket for St Albans in the first three pairs. Hari Karlaker particularly caught the eye with some well-timed drives. Harry Seagrave took off the wicket-keeping gloves to take two wickets in the final over, but the home team accumulated 268 runs.

Tom McVeigh set the tone for the St Albans batting with two early boundaries, and the run chase looked on until two wickets proved a costly set-back. Andrew Ellis and Harry Price took on the challenge and responded with 23 runs between them, and Harry playing some good strokes. Three wickets in consecutive overs stalled the St Albans scoring once more, and despite a valiant and exciting final partnership of James McVeigh and captain Josh Mulvaney, the 28 runs they scored were still six short of what would have been an unlikely victory.

The difference between the sides was the impressive fielding by North Mymms, especially the preventing of boundaries and the threatening of run-outs throughout.
