Match report After a disappointing last season, what a great way to start the new one. Due to the mid week rain, the wicket was very soft but drying in the northerly gale so it was a surpirse when Bayford won the toss and elected to bat. Steady bowling and good fielding kept Bayford down to 143, with the last wicket being taken in the final over. Barry Atkinson celebrated his 100th season with the club taking 3-31 including 2 wickets in 2 balls and Mark Bashford bowled a pietastic 3-34.

The batting performance of the 3s which bordered on abysmal last year was superlative. Having survived a missed run out chance early on, Azeem Hussain scored a magnificent 90 not out, ably supported by Rex Devadason with 33.
