Match report The IIIs suffered an ignominious loss to Langleybury, thoroughly defeated by 9 wickets, against a 10 man opposition who came into the fixture without a win.

Having been sent in on a slightly wet wicket, Saints took time to get going, despite a tiny up hill boundary and with their opponents initially two men short. Crisp, Tom O'Toole and Ferguson each registered 30s, but could go no further. Having gained some momentum, Saints then let things slip. A sequence of woeful errors with the bat left Ferguson stranded on 35 not out with several overs remaining. Langleybury bowled credibly, with Pearce's eight over return of 4-6 notable.

The wicket had dried by tea, but none of the eight bowlers tried by Eames would be proud of their performance. Ball and particularly Roe (85no) punished anything short - and there was plenty of that. Langleybury raced to victory in just over 30 overs.

Skipper Eames was understandably disappointed, but wisely advised the troops to put this aside as an aberration and move on to the next match. Next up Reed should watch out.
