St Albans Cricket Club Lost By 94 runs

Match report St Albans 1st XI fell to a heavy defeat by Division 2A leaders, Leverstock Green, on Saturday.

Batting first, the hosts amassed 324 for 3 with the opening pair of Miles Barnard & Lewis Koch adding 207 at the start of the innings. Barnard was the main aggressor with the Tasmanian's century coming from 83 balls and reached before Koch reached his 50. The latter survived some poor fielding as 3 catches went to ground. Mark Telkman picked up two quick wickets but Jadeja continued the attacking batting to bring up 300.

St Albans began slowly until Hounslow was caught behind for 2 followed by Kindlen, Jones & Tyler with 42 on the board in the 14th over. Howeson and Capaldi held firm until the captain was caught by Koch (the first of his 3 catches). Caley arrived the wicket and, once Capaldi departed for 20, began to score more freely. The bowlers kept Caley company as he amassed runs with an ease missing from the other players bring up his century in 83 balls whilst struggling with an injury late on. Carroll's dismissal for 0 meant a 94-run win with the batting efforts worth 9 points.

Next weekend, the first XI host Radlett 2's at Clarence Park from 1pm
