Match report A solid win to finish for the 2nd XI to end the season.

On the batting front, Aaron and Ruan were both unlucky to be given out L.B.W when looking to continue some of their good recent form. Mark Telkman rather amusingly got out to his former coach despite him telling Mini not to waft outside the off stump just the over before! It was in truth, a sub-par score given the good start made by St Albans, and a lot of momentum was lost as wickets fell.

However, it would prove to be more than enough as Harpenden struggled to score against a good bowling and fielding (minus Hall's ability to miss the ball at mid-off) performance. Both openers Smith and Uttam bowled with the accuracy that has come to personify their bowling. Credit must go to Mark Telkman for a very tight spell of bowling, including an almost hilarious sequence of balls to their number 4 batsman which made Telkman look like Danny Vettori on a dust bowl in Mumbai.

Jamie Telkman, boosted by a sharp catch off the equally as personifiable Erasmus long hop, would come on to perform a role often performed as a self-proclaimed 'Chess Valley Pro' on a Sunday. After a ropey first over, Telkman would probe away to reduce any chance of Harpenden victory, picking up two wickets. Uttam sealed the deal as Hall took his second catch of the day, 'sprinting' in from the boundary. The 2nd XI would enjoy many a beer to celebrate a well deserved victory.
