Match report A superb double century opening partnership was the highlight in this fixture that ultimately fell victim to the rain.

Almost from the very beginning, runs flowed for Nisar and James, and Chorleywood tried eight bowlers to separate the pair. Using the long downhill boundary on the fast outfield to their respective strengths, the two vindicated Webber's decision to bat first. Unfortunately, James fell just short of a ton, with 98. but Nisar brought up his first century in League cricket, to finish 102 not out. The opening partnership of 204 must surely set some club - if not League - records. The captain declared himself happy with the total after 45 overs, though with an uncertain forecast to contend with.

Indeed, it was not long after Chorleywood began their chase that a first heavy downpour arrived, reducing the available overs by eight. Hay found some dangerous life in the wicket, and Saunders nabbed Dare, courtesy of a stunning catch by Parkinson. A second rain break followed, and while Ul Haq added a second wicket, a third heavy shower proved too much for the pitch, and the skippers shook hands to bring proceedings to an early halt.
