Match report A beautiful sunny day up at Potten End for a 10 a-side friendly.
A sticky wicket and slow outfield - rich pickings for the bowlers and St Albans were able to exploit the conditions to great effect.
Ashish Dean picking up 3 quick wkts to leave Potten End reeling on 11-3. Amit bowled a really tight spell that went unrewarded. St Albans fielding was tight and supported the bowling well. A great catch from Amit after a 50 yard sprint was only surpassed when Ashish coolly held on to a screamer in the covers.
Sam extracted plenty of turn in his full spell, and Ciaran bowled with great variation taking out the middle stump twice in 5 overs.

A small target, but with plenty of surprises still in the pitch it was not going to be easy. Neil and Ashirwad provided a solid start for the first 8 overs. Amit added some great acceleration, and Naveed scored his 10 in two shots, but both fell to good catches. Neil secured an end but when he fell in the 24th over there was still plenty of work to do. 3 wickets fell in the next 3 overs, but Sam and Ashish saw St Albans home with 4 overs to spare.

An excellent all round team performance, some great hosts, and we were finished and back in the bar in time to see S Africa lose to the blossoms!
