St Albans Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI v Ealing Three Bridges on Sun 06 Sep 2015 at 13.00
St Albans Cricket Club Lost by 6 wickets
Match report
Ealing Three Bridges were comfortable winners in the last home game of the season for the club.
On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, St Albans won the toss and elected to bat first. St Albans were quickly reduced to 17-3 due to some good bowling and questionable batting. Ashish Dean looked in good touch, making 21 before he was caught at square leg off a leading edge. This left St Albans in a precarious position at 49-4 after 18 overs. However, a well-set Amit Rajani was joint by a slightly hungover Mark Telkman, and together they set about rebuilding the innings. Telkman looked unusually fluent, hitting six fours in his 41, including 3 slog sweeps in one over. Amit looked in equally good touch, and when Telkman was finally bowled, they had put on 106 in just 16 overs. Rajani found the boundary a couple more times before he was caught for an excellent 63. St Albans finished on 184 from their 40 overs.
Ealing got off to a flying start, with their opening batsman smashing 60 in quick time. He was finally removed by Telkman, Ciaran Walsh running round from long on to take a good catch. Dean then quickly removed their number 3, with St Albans now looking to pile on the pressure. However, The Ealing batsman continued to score quickly, and eventually won by 6 wickets.
