Match report St Albans extended their Division 2B lead to 26 points with a win against Bushey whilst second placed Eversholt drew with Bishops Stortford.

​A victory in just over 50 overs seemed unlikely with Bushey putting on 36 for the first wicket. Michael Goodfellow took a slip catch off Jacob Winfield to dismiss Sharma for 19. Although the seam bowlers troubled the visitors it took the two spin bowlers to dismiss Bushey. Mbekezeli Mabuza took 6 for 26, including a wicket in each of his first five overs, thanks to a mixture of poor shot selection and sharp catching, particular by Goodfellow at short leg. In support, Max Capaldi picked up the final three wickets for 5 runs to leave a target of 95 with 65 overs available.

Opening for Saint Albans, Jonny Hall & Adam Hounslow picked up 15 from 9 balls before Hall played around a straight one for 12. Hounslow played steadily whilst Robbie Goddard, making his first appearance of the season, settled. With the score at 48 Hounslow departed for 18. Goddard began to play more freely, his unbeaten 44 containing 5 boundaries and two sixes. A boundary from Goodfellow brought up the win with 45 overs to spare.

Eversholt visit Clarence Park on Saturday, the match starting at 1pm.
