St Albans Cricket Club Lost 1 run
Match report
I hope that all our players who witnessed this will recognise the poor sportsmanship of the Langleybury captain.
Not only did he put in two adults in the middle of the innings, who scored 100 runs, and deprived their colts of an extended bat, but he should have withdrawn the appeal off the last ball, when the wicketkeeper quite clearly dropped the ball before running Marcus out.
Do not expect those of us who run the development team to behave in the same way.
So, a moral victory for our colts, who scored around 100 runs more than theirs. Despite the disappointment, there were top scores for the season in this competition for Adam Potter and Robert Telkman, and good scores from Ed Hughes and Jack Bailey.
James Ball topped the bowling list with three wickets and Peter Griffiths took two catches behind the stumps.
