Match report This top of the table clash was a must win game for the 2s and only a victory would keep their promotion and possible league winning hopes alive.

Saints won the toss and elected to bat . The loss of a wicket in the 4th over was a blow but an excellent cameo from Michael Goodfellow who took on the bowling with gusto for a quick fire 34 calmed the nerves.

Saints never lost momentum as a brilliant partnership of 106 between Naveed Ahmed and Phil Caley took the Saints past 200 in 40 overs. Eventually Naveed fell on 51 but a magnificent innings of 94 from Cales helped Saints reach their highest score this season of 276. 

Leverstock Green had to get going from start to stand any chance of competing but Dan Rosson struck early trapping one of their openers LBW for just 10.

Tight bowling by Andy Milnes, Ben Mcinnes and skipper Amit Rajani turned the screw and in the end the opposition were all out for 202, 74 runs short of the target.  

Saints need just 16 points from their last game this coming Saturday against third placed Hatfield and Crusaders to guarantee promotion.
