Match report Nil points. Frankly, there is very little that can be said about this fixture, and even less that is positive; it was a very dirty day for the threes.

At a bright, but typically windswept Sandpit Lane, skipper Telkman won the toss, and batted first on a decent track. To begin with, the returning Eames and Knill-Jones accumulated runs, primarily behind the wicket. From this comfortable opening, it was unfortunate to see Eames (18) caught well short of his ground with the score on 31. From there, runs stagnated and wickets mounted, as just 22 runs were added across the next 17 overs. To be fair, Pirton's bowling was persistent, hitting the right channels, but the batting left much to be desired. Of those lower down the order, only Parkinson (15no) was able to hold his high in an all out total of 79.

Mercifully, Pirton knocked off the tally in quick time, Falder swinging has way to 59. Baylis bowled without luck and Everdell gave it his all, as ever, but nothing really worked - even the catches went down - as the visitors cruised to a 10 wicket win.

This result - 0 points earned - has left the thirds adrift at the bottom of the league table. There's no hiding the fact that things need to improve to stave off relegation.
