St Albans Cricket Club Won by 10 runs

Match report A fine evening after so much rain/cold. Batting was difficult on a slow damp pitch and outfield. Oscar Reeves, Jake Clarke and Finlay Killner all got good starts before getting out. After a few more cheap wickets, under 12 guests Freddie Reeves and Vihaan Balakrishnan and then Louis Stocks hung around and the score crept up to 67. A small total but better than it had looked.
Oscar Reeves's 2 early wickets saw off Rickmansworth's most likely looking batsman. A promising stand was then broken by Josh Smith (broken little finger and all). Finlay Killner and Oscar Ainsworth bowled accurately, then Will McAlister's first bowl of the season saw him pick up 2 wickets. Oscar Turner had his first bowl for the club. Despite our steady bowling and keen fielding (including very tidy keeping by Arthur Rees), Rickmansworth edged closer. With only 15 needed off the last 6 overs, they were favourites. The last few overs were bowled by our under 12s Freddie Reeves and Vihaan Balakrishnan whose calm accuracy tied the batsman up with 2 run outs and in the end a clear win.
A really good effort to defend such a small total, and well done to captain Oscar Reeves and vice-captain Jake Clarke who gave everyone a go while organising and motivating the team well.
