St Albans Cricket Club Lost by 20 runs

Match report A colts development team (boys + girls) took on local team SFDWP (Sad Fat Dads with Pads) last Tuesday at Clarence Park.
Family bragging rights were at stake as a number of Dads were playing against their children.
SFDWP batted first, and were soon rattled by the pace of Chester Reynolds, bowling their opener with a first ball yorker. Hannah Evershed was the first to collect a parental wicket by bowling her dad. Christine Bond also clean bowled another of the dads in the team. The dads were still able to pick off any bad balls, and with a fast outfield and short boundaries finished on 186-5.
A short delay to the reply as some of the Dads went to stop a break in at the bowling club!
Celeste Jones was unluckily run out by a direct throw, but Oscar Reeves (26*), and Zach Tarrant (47*) kept the colts up with the required run rate, but were retired at 25, Zach returning at the end of the innings. Brother and sister Dylan (25*) and Jenny Laird (10) also kept the pressure on the dads. Jack Longbottom was caught behind off his dad’s bowling and the innings fell away and despite the best efforts of the returning Zach the Colts ran out of overs and finished 20 runs short on 166-9.
