St Albans Cricket Club Lost by 61 runs

Match report Fishers won the toss and decided to bat. Arminah Awan (3-7-1) and Lorna Harper (3-12-0) bowled very tightly, and with great support in the field Fishers were unable to get the start they expected. Arminah clean bowling their opener in the third over. Fishers then started to throw the bat at anything loose and were getting good value from the fast outfield. Captain Amy Price was slightly delayed finishing the All Stars training but made an instant impact producing the perfect yorker with her first delivery. Fishers were immediately on the back foot and St Albans maintained the pressure in the finishing overs to keep Fishers down to an under-par 143.
In reply Helen O'Byrne and Amy Price started solidly to see off the opening bowlers. Amy picked up the pace, retiring on 25. Unfortunately the required rate could not be maintained as wickets fell at regular intervals. However some great cameos from Arminah Awan (17*), and Emily Pollard (11) ensured St Albans finished on a very respectable 82-9 after their 20 overs.
A great game played in a very friendly atmosphere, ending with the teams sharing pizzas in the bar after the game.
