Match report The last home game of the season saw the already relegated Totteridge visit Clarence park and under sunny skies St Albans lost the toss and were in the field.

St Albans started strongly with tight bowling from White and Roche with Roche picking up both the openers. One of these was to a great catch by Coulman who despite turning like the QE2 and running in treacle managed to save himself with a diving catch. Totteridge's third wicket put on 51 runs in quick time and Winfield still lacking a full set of spikes was wayward in his opening spell ending up on the floor more times than he bowled good balls.

It was the introduction of Regan who took the next three wickets and ran through the middle order. Winfield took a good low grab to give Regan his first and then White took a regulation slip catch for his second. Regans log hop tactic which has worked so well this season again bore fruit as the batsman could only pick out Coulman at deep square. Roche and Winfield returned to take a wicket each as St Albans were set 196 to win following a short rain break over tea.

Capaldi and Hounslow finally set a platform at the top of the order that St Albans had been looking for all year. 119 runs were put on as Totteridge were put under pressure in the field with good running and making sure that the bad ball found its way to the boundary. Both had lives as they were dropped but both managed to get half centuries.

Capaldi was the first to go to a mis judged single being run out via a direct hit. Coulman joined Hounslow and looked to be cruising before Coulman was out lbw and Hounslow with St Albans just short of the total was out for a fantastic 77. Regan in the dying light eased the ball to the boundary consistently to see a comfortable win for St Albans.
