Match report St Albans Club XI, playing a record ninth game of the season, faced Northwood CC at Sandpit Lane.

Batting first, Saints lost Battula early, but Pelham and Caswell made a steady start, with the former initially finding runs easier to come by than the latter. In the 18th over, with 58 runs on the board and the partnership was approaching 50, Pelham was caught for 28. This seemed to spur Caswell into action and, in partnership with Bahgirathy, the pair added 45 runs in just 5 overs. After Bhagirathy was stumped for 25, Caswell was joined by Umar Mukhtar and they kept the scoreboard ticking as Saint's score passed 140 in the 30th over. Caswell soon reached his 50, but both he and Mukhtar were out shortly afterwards. In the remaining 8 overs, Saints added another 45 runs and lost the wickets of Baksa (9) and S. Mukhtar (18), finishing on 188-7 from their 40 overs.

Sutton and Reeves opened the bowling for Saints, with their miserly spells yielding just 25 runs from the first 10 overs, but their hard work went unrewarded. The run rate started to increase with the introduction of S. Mukhtar and Baksa, but Northwood still offered no clear cut chances. It wasn't until shortly before the drinks break that Baksa (1-16) made the breakthrough, with the score on 64. A tidy spell of bowling from Pelham (2-15) after the break saw two further wickets fall, including Northwood's opener, Riyait, for 33. By the 30th over, Northwood had scored 110 and while victory looked unlikely, it could not be entirely discounted. However, two wickets for U. Mukhtar and a run out ensured that Saints ended up comfortable winners.
