St Albans Cricket Club Won by 178 runs

Match report St Albans were put to bat first.
Our opening batting pair Louise and Katy started strongly however, it was Jennie Kitzinger and Amy Price who took the batting into their hands and built up an astonishing partnership of 178 runs. Jennie batted amazingly and professionally and was rewarded with a half century, but with 55 runs, was unluckily caught out. Today was Amy Price’s day and through true determination, patience and outstanding skill achieved 115 not out, her first century and it was so well and truly deserved!!!! Through this top-quality batting performance, St Albans finished their innings on 227 runs for 5 wickets.
Following a very successful first innings, St Albans were driven by the team’s performance. A shoutout for our new-found wicketkeeper, Louise Nichols who has kept beautifully whilst maintaining the team’s positive morale on the pitch through her wise uplifting words of encouragement!! It was Arminah Awan who stood out in the bowling, with 4 wickets for 8 runs off 5 overs. The remainder of the wickets were bowled by Sophie Bailes, Jess Cowen and Cerys Jones, with Olivia O’Neill bowling beautifully too and taking great catches! Amptill were bowled out for 49 runs!
