Match report Another fantastic win for St Albans Women 1XI at Clarence Park. St Albans won the toss and elected to bat.
Louise and Katy got off to an excellent start. Katy (35) hit some lovely shots, particularly a straight drive for 4. Amy came in at 3 and scored a swift 30. Other contributors with the bat were Charlotte (36) and Arminah (24).

With 220 scored off our 30 overs it was time for the bowlers to get the wickets. We started off with slow bowling from both ends. Sophie was rewarded with a caught and bowled in her second over.
Other notable bowling performances was Cerys 2-6 off 3 and Jess 1-0 off her first ball to get Flitwick all out for 42. Another strong performance for the team.

Our big finale of our women and girls softball festival was a huge success on Sunday morning. 36 in attendance and plenty of competition between the players. This has meant that more women are interested in playing for St Albans and growing our section.
A big shout out to Cerys for being festival organiser, Cooks for organising food and drink and those who umpired and scored the games. We look forward to hosting an annual softball festival in the future!
