Match report In their second outing, the boys showed how much they had learned from their first match of the season. After electing to bowl Matthew set the tone by starting off with a wicket maiden. Henry in his first match of the season, bowled 2 overs and only conceded 1 run off the bat. Zac nipped in with 2 wickets with Toby and Alban sharing the remaining wickets. Patrick behind the stumps only conceded 4 byes. The ground fielding was excellent with Daiwick in particular producing a brilliant stop on the boundary with a big throw back to the stumps afterwards.
With the bat, the boys showed how they had taken on board the coaching they had been given. A very aggressive attitude in the running between the wickets was particularly evident from all the partnerships. Mixed in were some some big hits, with Patrick biffing 2 fours and Austin tonking a boundary of his own. Toby produced some elegant shots through the offside and a lovely four through extra cover.
Overall a great performance. Onwards and upwards!
